Characters
The full 16-character roster across the four Ages — Elliot, his fairy Faie, and the heroes and villains they meet.
One roster, four eras
All 16 characters are grouped below by the Age you meet them in. Elliot and his fairy companion Faie travel through every era; Princess Heuria of Huther — whose curse drives the whole journey through the Doorway of Time — anchors the Age of Safekeeping.
Age of Safekeeping (present) (5)
Elliot
The protagonist. A compassionate young adventurer who cannot ignore people in need and earns his living taking on townsfolk requests. He never knew his parents and was raised in the kingdom's orphanage, to which he donates part of his earnings while looking after the younger orphans between adventures. Only Elliot can see or hear the fairy Faie.
Princess Heuria
Princess of the Kingdom of Huther. Her innate magic lets her cast the spell of Safekeeping that shields the kingdom from the beast tribes, so she must stay in the castle to maintain it even though she longs to see the outside world. Kindhearted and fair, she is loved by the kingdom's people. Lifting the curse on her is the goal that sends Elliot through the Doorway of Time.
King Hichard
King of Huther and Heuria's father. A benevolent, responsible ruler who prioritizes his country's wellbeing and lives by the royal precept 'Be not a prisoner of power.' He worries for his daughter, who must keep casting the spell of Safekeeping. (Spelled 'Ichard' in one source heading.)
Kaifried
The king's shrewd minister and a capable swordsman. He objects to King Hichard's conservative rule and reliance on Princess Heuria's magic, instead pushing to proactively acquire new magics to secure the kingdom's future.
Euygene
The royal scholar and the kingdom's foremost magic researcher. A former adventurer who gave up early for lack of talent, he is young but trusted by the king. He is Elliot's old friend and recommends him to explore the newly discovered ruins, kicking off the adventure.
all ages (travels with Elliot) (1)
Faie
A fairy who only Elliot can see or hear and who supports him with unique fairy magic as his sidekick. Her memories from before meeting Elliot are hazy, and she keeps feeling she has forgotten something important. The player can control her with the right stick, and a second player can take her over in local co-op. She learns new magic abilities at Shrines of the Mystic and can revive Elliot when he falls.
Age of Reconstruction (the Dark Ages) (3)
Heurich
An adventurer from the village of Littlehope who becomes a kindred spirit to Elliot, sharing information about ruins and treasures. He travels the continent seeking a cure for his childhood friend Diona's illness, hoping the power and wisdom gained will pull the world out of its dark age.
Diona
A young woman who grew up alongside Heurich in Littlehope. A chronic illness keeps her indoors most days. Her caring nature endears her to the villagers, and she constantly worries about Heurich's reckless adventuring, often leading to quarrels.
Calotesia
Littlehope's resident historian and a mutual friend of Heurich and Diona. Despite the world's desperate state, her passion drives her research into humanity's past. She takes an interest in Elliot for his similarities to Heurich and offers him expert advice.
Age of Magic (a Golden Age) (4)
Fausta
An erudite researcher formerly of the Forthewor Institute who went independent to found and lead the Formanit Institute in the magic nation of Weyzn. Her earnest, rigorous approach has earned the deep trust of her employees.
Marnie
A researcher at the Formanit Institute and an expert in magic technology, especially mechanical engineering. She field-tests magical organisms known as thaumata, looks up to Director Fausta, and devotes herself to the institute's principle of using magic research to make people happy.
Hildebrandt
Director of the Forthewor Institute in Weyzn. A results-prioritizing realist whose outstanding research saw him appointed director at a young age; he is held in high regard by the people of Weyzn for his breakthroughs in magic development.
Ikarus
Head of Weyzn's nobility. Stern and serious, he spares no effort governing Weyzn. Concerned about Forthewor's reckless pursuit of progress, he has formed a cooperative relationship with Fausta, whom he consults for advice.
Age of Budding (the Birth of Civilization) (3)
Kai
The young chief of Hitoyori, the earliest human settlement. Most concerned with the beast tribe threat, he feels he must protect the village at all costs. To him the Myu are just another beast tribe and their magic a threat to the village's safety.
Hirk
A woman of Hitoyori who has spent years studying magic but has yet to put it to practical use. She believes magic is the key to the village's future and a way for its children to reach adulthood, and seeks to establish relations with the Myu in order to learn from them.
Lyudmila
A woman of the Myu tribe who lives in the snow field away from Hitoyori. Through a certain course of events she comes to teach magic to the humans. She possesses an unbreakable strength of will, never losing hope even in the cruelest circumstances.

FAQ
Who is Faie?
Faie is Elliot's fairy companion, voiced by Brenna Larsen (EN) / Rua Miyauchi (JP). She travels with him across all four Ages, casts magic learned at the Shrines of the Mystic, and can revive Elliot for a cost in tul. Note: many players search "fairy" — that's Faie. See Faie Magic.
Who is Heuria?
Princess Heuria of Huther (EN: Sura Siu / JP: Manaka Iwami). Lifting the curse placed on her is the reason Elliot and Faie cross the Doorway of Time. In the Age of Safekeeping she can join you, and her Partner Power heals Elliot to full.
Why are characters split across different ages?
The story spans four eras — Safekeeping (present), Reconstruction (the Dark Ages), Magic (a Golden Age) and Budding (the Birth of Civilization). Each era has its own cast of NPCs you meet only there.
