Weapon Enhancement & Magicite

Slot magicite to upgrade weapons — mind the equip-cost, chase the rarer stones.

The short version

You strengthen weapons two ways: find stronger same-type versions in caves and ruins, and slot magicite into each weapon for extra effects. Magicite is created by forming Magicite Fragments at the town shop (it's gacha-like), and every weapon has its own equip-cost limit — so rarer magicite, which is both stronger and cheaper to equip, is what you want.

Finding Stronger Weapons

Each of the seven weapon types has stronger same-type versions found in caves and ruins across the ages. Stronger versions raise attack power AND grant stronger special attacks (e.g. enhanced charge stages). Some of the best weapons are hidden in optional areas off the main story path.

Elliot equips up to two weapons at a time and switches between them freely in combat. That means you can carry, say, a ranged option and a melee option and swap on the fly — and each one is upgraded independently.

How Magicite Works

Magicite (a.k.a. magic stones / magicite) is equipped individually to each weapon to add effects; weapons do not share a cost limit. Combine magicite freely within each weapon's cost limit. Magicite is created by 'forming' Magicite Fragments (gacha-like) at the town shop; forming more often raises the odds of rarer magicite. Rarer magicite of the same effect is both stronger AND cheaper in cost, allowing more flexible builds. Example effects: fire trails on charge attacks, completion shockwaves, increased reach on weapon-swap, Lightning Mallet (hammer), Extra Throw (boomerang), Ripe Bomb (bombs), Brave magicite (+~10% sword damage & improved crit, a demo-carryover bonus).

Forming Magicite (the gacha loop)

Magicite isn't bought directly — you take Magicite Fragments (dropped by enemies and found in chests) to the shop in town and "form" them. The result is random, but forming more often raises the odds of pulling rarer magicite. Since rarer stones cost less equip-cost, grinding fragments early pays off in build flexibility later.

What is Brave magicite?

Brave magicite adds roughly +10% sword damage and improved critical hits. In the full game it's a Prologue Demo save-carryover / pre-order bonus, not something active during the demo itself.
